Perfect Elements to a Sustainable Summer Outfit

In this country you have got to take advantage of every second the weather is sunny and higher than 16C degrees, because chances are it will drop unexpectedly and storm the next day.

The Dress: This dress is by far my favourite daily casual summer dress! I have had this 60’s inspired babydoll silhouette dress for 3 years now and still can’t get enough of it. As I now live in the UK (where the weather is mostly grey and dreary), the dress tends to sit in the back of my closet for a good portion of the year, until late Spring when the sun decides to grace us with its presence. At that time I am pleasantly surprised to re-discover this beauty all over again! When I one day live in a warm country again, I will definitely invest in more of these lovely flowy dresses!

The Shoes: I discovered this brand through my brother in-laws’s girlfriend who was kind enough to tell that I must check them out as I would fall in love! She wasn’t wrong. These sneakers are hands down the best that I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable and even though by now I have worn them a few times they have stayed white. And the best part – they are eco-friendly and sustainble! (I will not reveal too much about this brand yet, as I will be writing about it very soon!)

P.S. please excuse the fact that my legs are as white as my shoes.

The Bag: If anyone asked me to describe this bag in 3 words it would be “perfect summer bag”. I have been eyeing it for a few summers now, but in the last few years I always fell into the trap of ‘I want this item, but I will get this one instead’. So finally, this summer I told myself that I will put it off no longer and that I must get this bag and only this bag! And that not only will I buy this bag, and ONLY this bag, but I will also buy it in a shade of brown or nude. In previous summers. when I have gone to buy a bag I always intended to buy it in a neutral shade but again fell into the trap of ‘I will buy this (crazy coloured) one instead’. A few years ago I went on a mission to buy a nude colour bag, but ended up buying one in light mint – close enough? It’s a good thing that this time I had backup to get me back on track (thank you Manon) as I almost bought this bag in red (what is wrong with me!).

So the moral of the story is – when you have your eyes set on something, don’t stray and keep putting it off, because you will spend a lot of time (and money) on other things which you don’t actually want only to go back to what you wanted to begin with!

The Sunglasses & Bracelets: When the sun comes out so do the shiny and colourful items in my closet! I am absolutely in love with these rose gold sunglasses, because most of my jewellery is rose gold, it pretty much goes with anything. I definitely recommend investing in a colour that you wear the most (if you wear a lot of silver jewellery, don’t invest in a bag or sunglasses that have gold metal). Colourful bracelets are also a summer must for me and what’s so great about these is that they are water-proof and sustainable!
