MOMOC is a new environmentally conscious sustainable and ethical timeless shoe brand from Spain that locally produces and sources a considerable amount of their materials. Their products are hand-made with high quality; they are stylish, elegant and comfortable. This sustainable brand donates 2% of their profits to non-profit organisations engaged in reforestation and the reintegration of animals in their natural habitats or the conservation of animals that cannot be reintegrated. In the brands own words, “our aim is for humans, animals and the environment to always be respected, allowing our customers to walk the planet conscientiously, responsibly and fashionably”.
This brand believes that a circular business model and zero waste practices are the future. Hence, many of the materials they use for making their shoes are recycled or less harmful, such as cork and natural rubber. The company also uses ecological, chrome-free, and metal-free tanned leather for their shoes. This type of leather reduces their environmental impact, water and chemical consumption. MOMOC also reuses solid wastes such as fertilisers and naturally dries the leather at room temperatures to reduce emissions. The soles of their shoes are made from recycled natural rubber, providing flexibility and comfort, while the insoles are made from recycled leather. The packaging is made from recycled cardboard and the bags in which the shoes come are made from 100% organic cotton. You can read more information about the sustainble materials used in MOMOC’s shoes HERE.
MOMOC has been awarded the Butterfly Mark, sponsored by Positive Luxury, in recognition of their commitment to social and environmental sustainability. You can head over to Positive Luxury’s website to check out all MOMOC’s positive actions.
I am wearing the Ciel Noir ballerina shoes made using 100% ecological leather and garnished with a black velvet ribbon. These shoes are the perfect day to night shoes: from an all-day event, to an evening out after work, these beauties can easily be worn around the clock. I look forward to getting more wear out of them once the weather has warmed up a bit!
As per the unexpected freezing weather that has been gracing the UK for the past few weeks, I have paired these flats with a fur-free “fur effect” coat from MaxMara, a black sweater from Bibico, AG Jeans, and a Lack of Colour hat most of which I have had in my closet for the past few years. Side-note, how cute are those ducks graciously sleeping behind me!?
