Welcome to the World Erik Mikael Björklund!

On the 14th of October we welcomed a new member into our family!

This little guy decided to make his entrance into the world 3 hours before I was supposed to be induced at 42 weeks! I guess that once he heard about being forced to leave the bump, he was in a hurry to come out. From the moment I felt the first contraction to birth was only 5 and a half hours – short and incredibly intense, with my birth plan completely going out the window once we realised how quickly he was coming.  He was also clearly quite set at proving wrong all the doctors who told me to expect an early delivery and a small baby, and came out weighing 3.67kg.

Thank you all so much for your loving messages during the past few weeks – and sorry if I haven’t got back to you yet! It has been the craziest and best three weeks of our lives -filled with lots of diaper changes, breastfeeding struggles, lack of sleep, and hoards of family visiting from abroad. We are over the moon to finally have Erik here with us and never imagined that we could ever love anyone so much. This cutie is by far our new favourite human!
