Mother’s day gifts for the sustainable woman

Hey lovelies!

With Mother’s Day around the corner I have listed a few gift ideas that any mother would absolutely love!

Seasalt Cotton Jersey Top £29.95 – purchase here

This is a classic summer must-have! Seasalt, is a sustainable brand based in Cornwall. This stunning shirt is made out of 100% Organic Cotton. You may be paying a little more for this basic piece but it is worth it in the long run. Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic pesticides or fertilisers, thus making it a safer working environment for those working in the fields (cotton is still hand picked in many countries). Buying organic cotton also prevents contributing to water pollution, which comes from the aforementioned toxins that seep into the water system. Choosing to buy organic cotton is a healthy choice not only because it’s better for the environment, if you are wearing something against your skin you don’t want to absorb those toxic chemicals that went into the manufacturing process.

Monica Vinader Diamond Alphabet Pendant: £150 – purchase here

This is one of my favourite jewellery brands – they never fail to impress! This beautiful diamond alphabet pendant is a great choice, its not a fashion statement but a classic piece. This brand works only with ethically sourced diamonds sourced through suppliers who adhere to the Kimberley Process and the World Diamond Council’s System of Warranties. Their diamond suppliers are also compliant with United Nations resolutions for ethical sourcing.

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Perfume £42 – purchase here

Jo Malone may, hands down, be the best perfume house out there – I am literally obsessed! I love the fact that their perfumes have very fresh tones – if you walk into a Jo Malone store make sure to smell Wood Sage & Sea Salt (my favourite scent by far). The best part is that their perfumes can be combined to create bespoke scents! With several scents you will be able to mix and match, leading you in the long run to purchase less perfume.

Longchamp Le Pliage Large Travel Bag £61 – purchase here

I absolutely love this bag! I have owned one now for the last 5 years or so and it is still in perfect condition. It is the perfect weekend travel bag – has lots of room, is lightweight, durable, and dust resistant. Highly recommended!

Give this bag a personal touch starting from £90 – check it out here

Aspinal of London Small Essential Pouch £50 – purchase here

This black leather pouch is the perfect gift for those moms who usually throw small bits (keys, cards, coins, etc) straight into their bag! It’s a good investment as it can be used for storing many different things at any time.

Orchid Plant £20 and over – I suggest going to your local florist. Can also be bought online for £35 at Waitrose – purchase here

Last but not least you can never go wrong with flowers! However, if you do choose to buy flowers why not invest in a plant rather than a bouquet? Orchid plants are a sustainable option as they will flower every year (if you take care of them, of course…)

Have a beautiful weekend!
